Franklin College Receives $4.2 Million Bequest From Trustee

Franklin College is in receipt of a $4.2 million bequest following settlement of the Effie Joan Behrens estate. Effie, a longtime resident of Indianapolis and a Fort Wayne native, died Dec. 11, 2010. She had been a Franklin College trustee since 1991, actively engaged in the campus community and dedicated to enriching religious life resources, supporting campus beautification and funding student scholarships.
Performance of The Fannie Lou Hamer Story

Fannie Lou Hamer, an activist during the civil rights movement who fought for African-American voting rights, will come to life in the play "The Fannie Lou Hamer Story" on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. in the Branigin Room of the Napolitan Student Center as part of Franklin College's 2011-12 Convocation Lecture Series.

A Franklin College student recently earned a perfect score on the major field test in mathematics (MFT). Matt Brems (2013), who is quadruple majoring in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, quantitative analysis and economics, received his test results in November.

Students Attend Advertising Women of New York Conference

Four Franklin College students were chosen to travel to New York City to participate in the 55th annual Advertising Career Conference, sponsored by Advertising Women of New York (AWNY) on Nov. 11-12, 2011. The students attended the conference with associate professor of journalism Ray Begovich.
Franklin College to Host Book Signing and Celebrate Ben Franklin's Birthday

Franklin College will host a book signing event on Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Richardson Chapel. Authors Jim Hillman, a longtime Johnson County native, and John Murphy, both with the Johnson County Museum of History, will discuss their book "Images of America: Franklin."
