White is a Franklin College graduate, class of 1958. His career experience includes teaching high school math from 1960-97.

In addition to education, basketball is a significant part of White's career history. He was a member of the 1954 Milan State Championship basketball team that spawned the movie Hoosiers. He later went on to coach Franklin College women's basketball for 10 years, and he coached the college's first post-season NCAA team.

White is a member of the Franklin College Alumni Council.
