Dr. Jimerson is the director of criminal justice at Franklin College. He holds a bachelor's degree from Earlham College, master's degree from the University of Virginia and doctorate from the University of Chicago. He previously taught computer programming and coached basketball at the Culver Military and Culver Girls Academies. In addition, he was an assistant professor at the University of Virginia, an instructor at the University of Chicago and an assistant professor at Indiana University in Bloomington.

Jimerson's work has been published in the Journal of Contemporary Ethnography, American Behavioral Scientist, Sociology of Sport Journal and Social Psychology Quarterly. He also has written and co-produced a half-hour documentary shown on public television stations in Indiana.

Jimerson's hobbies include basketball, gardening and reading. He also volunteers as a youth sports coach at the YMCA and aspires to become a professional photographer.
