Moore received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Indiana University, a master's degree in education K-6, 7-8 ND from IUPUI, and a gifted and talented teaching endorsement from Purdue University. She currently is completing her course work and dissertation for a doctorate in educational leadership at Indiana University. Before joining the Franklin College faculty, she taught for 25 years in the Clark-Pleasant Community School Corp., served on numerous committees and worked part-time for Renaissance Learning, a company that trains teachers to use techniques, strategies and software programs that enhance students' reading, math, test-taking and other skills. Moore traveled for five years around the U.S. presenting seminars to groups of teachers interested in the programs.

Moore describes her position at Franklin College as one that allows her to be in the classroom, on a different level. She keeps in touch with surrounding school systems by supervising college students during their field experiences.

In her spare time, Moore likes to garden, sew and devote time to an area church by sharing her musical talents.
