Gordon Strain received his Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from Indiana University after receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. He served as the Technical Theatre Director and Resident Designer at Cincinnati Country Day School where he also taught middle school and high school theatre courses. In addition, Gordon served as a lead artist and project manager for ArtWorks Cincinnati where he oversaw the development of public art projects. Gordon's desire to challenge himself professionally took him to New York City where he worked for Spaeth Design as part of a creative team that designed animated holiday windows for Lord and Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue. Locally Gordon has worked as an assistant scenic designer to Russell Metheny at Indiana Repertory Theatre as well as with Cardinal Stage in Bloomington, IN.
