Connie Ables-Rigsbee received a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from Indiana University, a master's degree in education from Olivet Nazarene University, and her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana University. Before joining the Franklin College faculty, she taught for 19 years in and around Madison, Indiana, at high school and Adult Educational settings. She served on numerous committees and boards throughout her tenure. Most recently she has served as Assistant Director of a Teaching American History grant in Monroe County, Indiana, an IU and MCCSC collaboration.
Ables-Rigsbee is currently teaching Diversity, Geography, and Introduction to Teaching courses at Franklin. She expects to expand her duties next semester by teaching a course on Assessment and another on General Methods to pre-service teachers. She is thrilled to be part of the Franklin College family.
In her spare time, Ables-Rigsbee likes to run, bike, cook, and read. She and her husband, Chip, have six children whom they enjoy vacationing and dining with on a regular basis.
