NON-TENURE TRACK ENGLISH INSTRUCTOR

Franklin College invites applications for a full-time, renewable, non-tenure-track position in English to begin August 2013. The ideal candidate will teach composition, dramatic literature, and creative writing. The teaching load is three courses per semester, plus three hours a week of tutoring in the campus writing center. The position includes a generous benefits package.

Candidates who can demonstrate a dedication to teaching and a genuine interest in working with undergraduates in a small, collegial liberal arts setting that emphasizes close student-faculty interaction will be given preference. Terminal degree preferred.

Founded in 1834, Franklin College is a residential four-year undergraduate liberal arts institution with a scenic, wooded campus located 20 minutes south of downtown Indianapolis. The college prepares men and women for significant careers through the liberal arts, offering its approximately 1,000 students 30 majors, 35 minors and 9 pre-professional programs. In 1842, the college began admitting women, becoming the first coeducational institution in Indiana and the seventh in the nation.
