This is a picture I took of a cabin in Bo. An extremely nice lady named Ellen took us around the site, cooked great food for us, and took time out to literally have a fireside chat with us. Note the extreme amount of snow. The further one travels into the countryside is in direct correlation to the amount of snow present, which thus allows for some terrific photo opportunities. I am 6'6", and the snow here came up past my knee! |

I took this picture at a train stop on the way to Bergen. Bergen is one giant photo op, and this picture proves that even on the way there you will be treated to some extremely beautiful eye-candy. As you can see in the station itself, many buildings in Norway are made completely out of wood, complete with wood floors and wood finish around the walls. This leads to a lot of stories about buildings burning down, but at the same time, it is an interior designer's dream castle! |
This is Anne Shaw, myself, and Michael, a guy that I met who was on a personal vacation from Germany. We were on a boat on the way to Bergen when this was taken. We are severely bundled up here because the wind really increased the cold. Norway is not as cold as most people expect because there is not a windchill factor, but once we got going in the boat, it wasn't twenty minutes before we went inside to thaw out! Also note the darkness in the background. This picture was taken around 4 p.m., and it was already this dark because the sun starts to set in Norway usually around 3 p.m. in the winter time! |

This is a picture of a very nice woman working at a souvenir stand at the top of the mountain in Bergen. I had hiked all day long up the mountain only to find out when I got back that we as a group were using a train to go up to the top! Yet my walk in the morning deepened my appreciation for the view at the top of the mountain! This woman was very tall, had her hair braided down to her waist, and treated us like people instead of tourists! |
