First stop: Oslo!
One of our first stops in Oslo
was the Vigeland Sculpture Park. It was beautiful, all snowy, and
white. Jessica and I decided to pose in the middle of this sculpture!
While we were at the sculpture
park, we experienced the most beautiful sunset of the entire trip.
In this picture, along with the sunset is also the most famous sculpture
in the park of a young boy (though I'm not exactly sure why it is the most
famous!).
After watching the changing
of the guards at the Royal Palace, we decided to have our picture taken
with the new guard, who was probably struggling not to laugh at us!
Yes, we were quite the tourists!
We also visited the National
Gallery, an art museum containing art by famous Norwegian artists and other
famous artists from all over Europe. This is a picture of the famous
"The Scream" by the Norwegian artist, Edvard Munch.
We also visited a Folk Museum
in which there were several buildings, one of which was this stave church.
Norway is known for these completely wooden churches that were built around
the 12th century. There are still around thirty of these churches
still standing in Norway.
