| Guadalajara, Mexico January 3-24, 2009 | | . Hola!
My name is Elizabeth Kuka (green dress), and I am Megan Mattingly (red
dress). We are both sophomores at Franklin studying Spanish. Over the
three weeks in Guadalajara, we learned a lot about the culture,
language, and ourselves. Just learning Spanish in a classroom and out
of a textbook doesn't allow you to experience the lanuguage and culture
first-hand. Being in Guadalajara and speaking Spanish 24/7 for three
weeks forces you out of your comfort zone, but is the best way to truly
understand, learn, and practice the language. We had a lot of fun, but
at the same time learned a lot about ourselves. We now feel more
confident in speaking Spanish! We would like to thank all of the
teachers in Guadalajara, Professor Colburn-Alsop and Professor Alsop
for giving us this opportunity to expand our minds and embrace the
culture!! If you would like to talk to either one of us more about our trip, our email address are down at the bottom of the page. This is our family. Jose y Delia
