Leroy O. Orahood Endowed Scholarship
People remember Franklin College in their wills for many reasons, but two themes mentioned often are the friends made in the brotherhood or sisterhood of a Greek organization and romance that blossomed into a lifetime of love. Leroy Orahood mentioned both of those themes when he established the scholarship in his name at Franklin College.During the years of 1908 and 1909, Mr. Orahood made friends and gained experiences he would cherish for the rest of his life as a brother in Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. In his final will and testament, he wrote that the fraternity "brought me, among many benefits, the meeting of my beloved wife."
The Leroy O. Orahood Endowed Scholarship is awarded to students in good standing who are members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. The financial aid office selects recipients.
