Lella O. Kelly Endowed Scholarship Fund


SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

Lella Kelly dedicated her life to encouraging young people in their pursuit of an education. Born in Franklin in 1904, she was a 1922 graduate of Franklin High School and a 1926 graduate of Franklin College. She went on to earn her library science degree. She worked as a librarian in Indiana schools for 42 years, 25 of them in Franklin. In addition to helping countless students, she worked to improve her profession, serving as president of the Indiana School Librarian Association. In Franklin, Ms. Kelly was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club, Tri Kappa and the Franklin Women's Study Club.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Ms. Kelly continued her dedication to education by remembering Franklin College in her estate. The Lella O. Kelly Endowed Scholarship awards deserving students. There are no restrictions or requirements for receiving the award. The financial aid office selects recipients.
