Scholarship Details

Marian Gilmore Scholarship Fund

SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

Marian Gilmore was a homemaker who spent most of her life in two Indiana cities: Franklin and Sullivan. She spent her early years in Sullivan, where she graduated from high school. She later lived in Franklin and, though she never attended Franklin College, Mrs. Gilmore supported the school's mission and wanted to help young people seek an education here. Upon her death, the Marian Gilmore Scholarship was established to help students from Sullivan and Franklin attend Franklin College.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Two scholarships will be given each year from the fund. One will go to a student from Franklin Community High School, and the other to a student from Sullivan High School. Recipients will be selected by officers of a trust set up by Mrs. Gilmore to oversee the fund.
