Bessie Custer Rea Endowed Scholarship Fund

SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

Scholarships at Franklin College are often established by alumni in honor of their parents, or by parents honoring the accomplishments of a child. The Bessie Custer Rea Endowed Scholarship recognizes the power of love and support from a sibling. In 1996, Birdie Fay Williams, a 1929 graduate of Franklin College, established the scholarship out of love and respect for her sister, Bessie Custer Rea. Mrs. Williams stated that her sister's support and friendship had made a tremendous impact on her life. The scholarship memorializing Bessie Custer Rea is meant to encourage young men and women to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

The Bessie Custer Rea Endowed Scholarship is available to any full-time student in good standing with the college. The financial aid office selects the recipients.
