The Ingrid and Irvin French Endowed Scholarship


SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

Mr. Irvin L. French, a graduate of Franklin College from the Class of 1964, is the owner of On Site Energy Co. Inc. headquartered in New York. He is also the Chairman and principal owner of ONSPOT of North America with a factory located in North Vernon, Indiana. Mr. French, a native of Seymour, Indiana, formerly owned the Cummins Distributorship in New York and New Jersey. He served on the Franklin College Board of Trustees from 1980 - 1991. Mr. French, along with Von Boll '52, personally led a fundraising drive to endow the Tull Chair of Business and Management as a lasting tribute to E. Don and Joyce Tull and their corporate leadership in Indiana. The Ingrid and Irvin French Endowed Scholarship is another example of Mr. French's dedication to his alma mater and his commitment to helping deserving students from Jennings County, Indiana, who need financial assistance to attend Franklin College.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

The first preference for awarding this scholarship shall be given to assist deserving students from Jennings County, Indiana, who demonstrate financial need. The Ingrid and Irvin French Endowed Scholarship may be renewed annually as long as the recipient maintains a satisfactory grade point average. This award will be coordinated by the Office of Financial Aid.
