William & Ruth Kerlin Hibbs Pre-Medical Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND
In 1915, William Hibbs became Franklin College's first pre-medical graduate. Four years later, he graduated from Rush Medical College in Chicago. Dr. Hibbs served as medical director of the Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke Medical Center in Chicago for 45 years. After his retirement, he returned to Franklin where he served as medical director for the Indiana Masonic Home. He and his wife, Ruth Kerlin Hibbs, were loyal supporters of Franklin College. Dr. Hibbs was a member of the board of trustees from 1952-1979. The William and Ruth Kerlin Hibbs Pre-Medical Scholarship honors his long and distinguished career.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The William and Ruth Kerlin Hibbs Pre-Medical Scholarship is presented to students following a pre-med course of study. The pre-med advisor selects recipients.
