Harold and Velma McKain Memorial Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

Velma J. (Fountain) McKain '32 established the Harold and Velma McKain Memorial Scholarship to honor her late husband, pay homage to her alma mater and provide scholarship funding to qualified candidates. The endowment is a tribute to Mrs. McKain's success as a student, educator, citizen and wife. It is the hope of Mrs. McKain that the funds will influence future recipients to pursue both their personal and professional dreams upon graduating from Franklin College.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Recipients of the McKain Memorial Endowed Scholarship shall be from the Seymour Community School system with first preference to students from Hamilton Township of Jackson County. Scholarship selection shall be based upon financial need, scholarship, character and citizenship.
