The Elba L. and Gene Portteus Branigin Foundation Endowed Scholarship for International Business

SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

The Branigin Foundation Endowed Scholarships for International Business will provide opportunities for students whose major interest is in business with an international emphasis to attend Franklin College and to spend an academic term studying abroad. In order to make this possible, the College will devote approximately fifty percent of the funds generated annually by the Branigin Foundation Endowed Scholarship to scholarships for entering students and will utilize the remainder to provide scholarships to enable Branigin Scholars to study abroad.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must intend to major in business or economics. In addition, an interest in international business, foreign language, international relations or a related field should be demonstrated. Preference will be given to entering students who demonstrate financial need. Branigin Foundation Endowed Scholarships are renewable based upon satisfactory academic progress and continued participation in the major and interests mentioned above. Branigin Foundation Scholars who maintain a 2.5 GPA will be eligible to apply for a study-abroad scholarship through the Branigin Foundation Endowed Scholarship for International Business. The size of the study-abroad awards will be based on need and merit. In years in which funds are available, other upper-class students with majors and interests in the areas mentioned above may be invited to apply for the Branigin Foundation study-abroad scholarship. Recipients of the Branigin Foundation Endowed Scholarship who study abroad must complete at least one semester on campus following their study abroad experience.
