Andrew & Nancy Johnson Endowed Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

When Andrew Johnson joined the Franklin College Board of Trustees in 1881, he could not have known the extent to which his family would be involved with the college. His sons, Ralph and Maurice, and his daughters, Ruth, Grace and Margaret, all attended Franklin College. His grandson, Robert A. Johnson, and his great-granddaughter, Susan Johnson DeVoss, would follow in his footsteps as members of the board of trustees. In honor of the many happy memories and the legacy of education created by Mr. Johnson's involvement on the board, his family created the Andrew and Nancy Johnson Endowed Scholarship.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Candidates for the scholarship will be evaluated based on financial need, scholarship, leadership and, in the case of high school applicants, probability of academic success. Recipients will be selected by either a faculty scholarship committee or the financial aid committee of the college.
