Scholarship Details
Wilbur H. & Margaret McClure Shook Endowed Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND
Wilbur and Margaret Shook both graduated from Franklin College in the 1920s. They remained close to the college, attending reunions and maintaining friendships with the many people they met on the campus. The couple's youngest son, Robert, is also an alumnus of the college. They have supported Franklin in a number of ways, including providing the clock on the front of the Chapel. A room in the Johnson Center for Fine Arts is named in honor of Mrs. Shook and her late husband. The couple provided the Wilber H. and Margaret McClure Shook Endowed Scholarship so that future students might have the same wonderful experience at Franklin College which they shared.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The Shook Endowed Scholarship is available to worthy students coming to Franklin College from Ripley or Tipton counties in Indiana. Preference will be given to first year students, but if none are available, the award may go to sophomores, juniors or seniors. The financial aid office will select the recipients.
