Dallas J. & Elna I. West Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND

Dallas and Elna West provided leadership and moral guidance not only to Franklin College, but to thousands of Hoosiers through his work as executive minister of the Indiana Baptist Convention. On the Franklin campus, Dr. West served as member of the board of trustees for 30 years and received an honorary degree in 1959. He and Mrs. West were the driving forces behind building the Chapel and establishing the chaplaincy on campus. The Dallas J. and Elna I. West Endowed Scholarship was established at the end of Dr. West's career to honor the couple's lifetime of service.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Recipients must be full-time students at Franklin College and active members of an American Baptist Church. First preference will be given to members of congregations in Indiana. Recipients will be selected by the financial aid office and must be approved by the Indiana Baptist Convention.
