Hubert Hunter Ogden Endowed Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP BACKGROUND
Hubert Hunter Ogden was the sort of teacher who inspires students and changes their lives forever. Born in Franklin, he graduated with honors from Franklin College in 1923. Mr. Ogden majored in history and went on to teach that subject and sociology in South Bend, Ind. He coached debate teams and, later, served as an assistant principal. Throughout his career he was known for his love of learning, dedication to truth, open-mindedness toward new ideas and logical discourse. He urged his students always to strive toward excellence, both in academia and in their communities. He also encouraged many promising students to attend Franklin College. The Hubert Hunter Ogden Endowed Scholarship was established by his family to honor this remarkable man.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
The Hubert Hunter Ogden Endowed Scholarship is available to students intending to pursue a career in secondary education. Academic achievement and performance in course requirements for secondary education will be considered in selecting recipients. The financial aid office will determine recipients for the award.
