Description: Assuming the Presidency at the depth of the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt helped the American people regain faith in themselves. He brought hope as he promised prompt, vigorous action, and asserted in his Inaugural Address, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."  He was elected President in November 1932, to the first of four terms.
 

Procedure:  You are to use the links below in order to write a brief description of FDR's life.  You are expected to know about his childhood, his political life, and what finally brought his life and career to and end.  Furthermore, you are must chose one of his 'fire-side' chats and describe how hearing it for the first time would have made you feel.  Your final product should be a two page, typed paper, with the first page describing FDR and the second describing the fire-side chat.
