Required Work
The course meets twice a week for an hour and fifteen minutes. Given the ambitious schedule, you will be expected to complete work outside of class. Please expect to spend a few hours each week on your assignments for this class in addition to the two and a half hours in the lab (Shirk 103).

If you need to use a computer other than the one in the lab, please note that you can work on the Macs in the basement of Shirk (The Franklin newsroom) or at the Teaching and Learning Center in the library. Be aware that it’s best to complete assignments on the same computer. Fonts may vary from computer to computer and moving between PCs and Macs can create issues. Again, remember to back up your work on your portable flash drive.

Shirk Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Sunday through Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. until 11 p.m.

The following  10 assignments will be submitted for grading:

Audio Skills 1 (Parts I and II) (60-90 seconds)
Audio Skills 2 (Parts I and II) (60-90 seconds)
Audio Slideshow (Soundslides) (90-120 seconds)
Video Story (120-150 seconds)

Please do not be fooled by the short length of some assignments. It can take many hours to edit one minute of audio or video, depending on what you gathered.

Attendance Counts
Please see Grading for details.

Quizzes, Tests, Exams
There may be a few minor quizzes along the way; however, the bulk of your final grade will be based on your completed work. If you complete that work properly and on time, your grade should be a good one.
