Introduction
You have just come across the
ocean and
landed in a new world. To your surprise
you find groups of people living in this
land. These people have different customs
and cultures then yours.
The
Task
Because you are the official log keeper on
this voyage, it is your job to catalog 3
of the different tribes of people in this land
and report these back to the king.
You will have to document certain
information for the king so he knows
what these people are like.
You must find the groups;
Name
Location
What they eat
If they are warriors or peaceful
If they like to trade
Any other interesting facts
The
Process
- First you'll be assigned
to a group of three people.
- Next Your group should decide who is going to
write down the information, who is going to use
the computer, and who will make the class presentation
- Your group will then go to a computer and begin
researching your tribes.
- Your group should then go to the following site
and pick out three tribes to research.
- Next you and your partner should go to the following
sites and try to find information on your tribes.
- http://www.sachem-uncas.com/woodland.html
- http://www.elijah.org/shadowwolf/index.htm
- After looking through these web sites your group
should look in the Encyclopedia of Native American
tribes to find an information you have not been able
to locate.
- Your group should then watch the video (Indians
of the Eastern Woodlands) the teacher plays and see
if your tribe is mentioned on the video.
- Your group must then prepare a presentation
to give to the class. The presentation should include
all the info you have found and should include some
sort of picture or poster.
