Events/Accomplishments
The Franklin College TKE chapter has received nine Top Teke awards since receiving their charter here in 1988. Top Teke awards are given annually to the top four-six chapters nationwide. For the 2007-2008 school year members of TKE received Franklin College’s Living the Ritual and Greek Man of the Year, which are two of the most prestigious awards given to individual Greek men at Franklin College. TKE received Franklin College’s award for Philanthropy and Community service for the 2007-2008 school year which, during the Spring of 2007, TKE held its first ever Beauty and the Greek contest to raise money for Alzheimer's disease (TKE's national philanthropy). The men of TKE are looking forward to an even more successful Beauty and the Greek scheduled for this fall. Other philanthropy events include visits to the local Masonic Home to play bingo with the elderly 4-6 times a month and the annual Christmas party for the underprivileged families of Johnson County. TKE hosts a Red Carnation Ball formal every spring for its members and their guests.
