Fraternity Recruitment
The fraternities at Franklin College use an open bidding system, where membership offers, or “bids”, maybe distributed anytime in the academic year. Interfraternity Council (IFC) hosts several events during the first three weeks of the fall semester where interested students can visit with current Greek men and learn more about each chapter. Beginning in late September each of the five chapters will hosts individual recruitment events. These events are open to any unaffiliated man on campus and are a great opportunity to get to know the brotherhood of the chapter and ask questions about the chapter’s activities, scholarship requirements, finances, housing, time and commitment.
Anyone participating in the recruitment process should look for a chapter where they feel the most comfortable. Fraternity membership is a life-long commitment. All new students are encouraged to attend recruitment events but it is important to remember there is no obligation to join an organization. These events are a great way to meet a lot of new people!
