What should I do if I suspect a student has a disability?

Talk with the student about your concerns regarding his or her performance. If the concern seems disability-related, you may want to ask if he or she has ever been diagnosed with a disability. If so, you may want to refer the student to the Director of Academic Resources. If a student chooses not to disclose his or her disability to FC, we are not under any obligation to provide accommodations.

Please note that FC doesn't diagnosis disabilities or cover the cost for a student to be evaluated. The Director of Academic Resources can refer students to a list of local resources that provide evaluation services.
