Math Study Center

Math, more than any other subject, causes many students difficulty. Several years ago, the Franklin College Math Department created the Math Study Center to help students in all areas of the subject.

The Math Study Center is located in room 304 in the Academic Resource Center. Advanced math students are trained to be qualified staff members of the center. Students can receive homework help, address questions on specific subjects or get help studying for tests.

Its unique student-friendly environment encourages individual development in mathematics with its one-on-one assistance from upperclassmen. The center strives to build students' confidence in their mathematical abilities. Through effective problem-solving procedures, the MSC assistants offer help to students by encouraging them to discover the solutions to their problems. The MSC also offers math assistants experience in working with students in a real-life setting and provides the assistants with the opportunities to reflect on and discuss their experiences and to develop themselves professionally.

If you enjoy math, are a math major or minor or have had good standing in math courses at FC, contact the director of academic resources to apply to be a math assistant. This is a paid position.
